📋 Managing Tasks with xMagic

Introduction to Tasks in xMagic

Tasks in xMagic allow you to automate and manage various operations such as sending emails, making phone calls, or managing appointments through your AI assistant. This guide will walk you through creating and managing tasks within xMagic.

To get started, navigate to the Tasks section on the left panel of your xMagic dashboard. This page provides an overview of all tasks, their status, and quick actions for task management.

Creating a New Task

To create a new task:

  1. Click on Create new task at the top right corner of the tasks page.
  2. A modal will appear where you can define the details of your task:
    • Task Name: Give your task a specific name for easy identification.
    • Task Description: Describe the purpose of the task and any specific details involved.
    • Number of Attempts: Set how many times the AI should attempt to complete the task before marking it as failed.
    • Retry Interval (in minutes): If the task fails, specify how long the AI should wait before retrying.

Task Status Categories

Tasks are categorized by their status:

  • Done: Tasks that have been completed successfully.
  • In Progress: Tasks that are currently being executed.
  • Pending: Tasks that have been created and are waiting to be executed.
  • Failed: Tasks that could not be completed after the specified attempts.

Viewing Task Details and Reports

Click on any task to view detailed information and the report of each task. The task details modal provides:

  • Task Name
  • Task Description
  • Number of Attempts
  • Retry Interval
  • Channels used (e.g., Phone, Email)
  • Status of the task (Done, In Progress, Pending, Failed)

The Report tab within the task details provides a breakdown of all activities associated with the task:

  • Subtasks: Detailed descriptions and outcomes of each subtask.
  • Executed Steps: A chronological list of actions taken as part of the task with their respective statuses and results.

This report helps in tracking the efficiency and issues related to task execution, allowing for better management and adjustment of task parameters.
